Final Fantasy 15 could eventually come to Nintendo Switch 2, according to a new comment from Square Enix. The company has not confirmed a port, but it has suggested that the idea is possible and worth passing along to the development team.
The topic came up during Square Enix’s shareholder Q&A on June 24, 2026, where executives were asked about the chances of bringing the 2016 RPG to Nintendo’s latest console. The response was cautious but positive. Square Enix said that while there would be hardware limits involved in recreating the exact original experience, a Switch 2 version is not completely impossible.
The company also said it would share the suggestion with developers as useful feedback for future platform planning and marketing decisions. That means Final Fantasy 15 is not currently announced for Switch 2, but Square Enix appears open to considering it.
The discussion comes as Nintendo Switch 2 continues gaining stronger third-party support. Square Enix has already brought major Final Fantasy projects to the platform, including the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy, with Final Fantasy 7: Revelation expected to launch in spring 2027 alongside other platforms.
A Switch 2 version of Final Fantasy 15 would likely require technical adjustments. The original game was built around large open areas, real-time combat, detailed environments, and cinematic presentation, so a direct one-to-one version may be difficult. Still, the newer Nintendo hardware could make a more complete release possible than what was practical on the original Switch.
For now, fans should treat this as an encouraging sign rather than an official announcement. Square Enix is listening, and Final Fantasy 15 on Nintendo Switch 2 is at least on the table as a future possibility.
