PlayStation Plus Essential subscribers will receive more than the standard edition of Dying Light 2: Stay Human when the game joins the service’s August lineup.
The version offered to members is the Reloaded Edition, which includes the base game, its major post-launch updates, and the Bloody Ties story expansion. Eligible players will be able to add it to their PlayStation libraries beginning August 4, 2026, before the monthly offer changes in September.
Dying Light 2 received numerous substantial updates between 2022 and 2025. The Reloaded Edition includes additions such as firearms, the more demanding Nightmare difficulty, gameplay adjustments, technical improvements, and other content introduced after the original launch.
Bloody Ties is the game’s main story expansion. It introduces a separate narrative centered on Carnage Hall, where participants compete in dangerous events while uncovering the secrets surrounding the venue.
The inclusion gives PlayStation Plus members access to a more complete version of the open-world action game without requiring a separate DLC purchase. Players who previously skipped the expansion will be able to experience it as part of the August release.
Dying Light 2’s more recent Breach update also introduced broader modding support, including access to community and developer-created maps, modes, and challenges on supported console versions.
However, the same update attracted criticism after changes were made to the opening section of the campaign. The prologue was shortened to help players reach cooperative multiplayer more quickly, reducing several early story scenes and limiting the role of returning character Spike.
Some fans argued that the original introduction provided important context for the world and protagonist. According to the supplied information, the removed version cannot currently be replayed through an updated digital copy, leaving an unpatched physical edition as the main possible route to experiencing it.
Two other games are scheduled to join the PlayStation Plus Essential lineup alongside Dying Light 2 Reloaded Edition.

All three games will be available as part of the August PlayStation Plus Essential selection. Members must claim them during the availability period to keep access while their subscription remains active.
