A new Batman game has launched unexpectedly through Amazon Luna, giving eligible Prime members access without requiring a dedicated console or traditional controller.
Batman: Caped Crusader – Chronicles is connected to the animated series of the same name and arrives alongside its second season. The game can be played through compatible Fire TV devices, smartphones, laptops, and other hardware supported by Amazon’s cloud gaming service.
Rather than placing players directly in Batman’s role, the story follows a Gotham City Police Department investigator working alongside Batman and Detective Renee Montoya. The group examines crime scenes, questions suspects, and attempts to solve a collection of connected mysteries.
The game contains 11 episodic cases and supports both solo play and cooperative sessions for up to four participants. Players face villains including Scarecrow, Babyface, and The Joker while completing detective-focused challenges.
Activities include searching environments for evidence, rebuilding damaged objects, interpreting witness statements, handling dangerous devices, and interviewing suspects. When playing through a television, a compatible smartphone can function as the controller and microphone.
Voice interaction is used during selected interview sequences, allowing players to speak through their phones while attempting to obtain information. This gives the experience a party-game quality while keeping the focus on investigation and puzzle solving.
Two main options are available. Story Mode presents the cases as a connected narrative, while Quickplay allows previously completed missions and preferred activities to be revisited more easily.
Several performers from the animated series return for the game, including Hamish Linklater as Batman and Michelle C. Bonilla as Detective Montoya. Matthew Needham also voices The Joker.
Batman: Caped Crusader presents Gotham through a visual style inspired by the 1940s. Portions of the game use animation designed to resemble the television adaptation, helping connect its investigations to the wider series.
Access is included with supported Amazon Prime memberships through Luna, although device availability and service features may differ by region. Players in the United States and United Kingdom can also launch it through the Prime Video app on compatible Fire TV hardware.
The launch coincides with the release of Batman: Caped Crusader Season 2 on Prime Video. The new season consists of ten episodes, all of which became available at the same time.
A third season has not yet been confirmed. Its future may depend on the audience performance of the latest episodes, while the new game offers fans another way to explore the show’s version of Gotham.
